What to tell us
- A number here doesn't match the CMS source for the same facility.
- You are listed as an owner or manager and no longer hold that role.CMS ownership records carry a start date but no end date, so someone who has left can keep appearing until CMS drops them from a later monthly release. Tell us and we will check against the current release.
- The CMS record itself looks wrong for your facility.
- This page appears to mix up two facilities with the same name.
What we do
We check every report against the current CMS release. If our arithmetic is wrong, we fix it. If the CMS record has changed and we haven't refreshed yet, we refresh.
What we don't do
We don't remove accurate records because they are unflattering. Every figure here carries its source and the date of the record it came from, and links to the CMS data it was computed from.We also can't edit CMS's records. If a figure is wrong at the source, it has to be corrected with CMS — their contact for the nursing home datasets isBetterCare@cms.hhs.gov, listed on each dataset's page in the Provider Data Catalog.
CMS updates monthly, so a recent real-world change may not appear in either place yet — each facility page shows the date of the record it displays. We re-import the full CMS release every month, so upstream corrections flow in automatically.
If you have an urgent concern about a nursing home
This site is a records archive — it can't act on complaints. These offices can:
- Immediate danger: call 911.
- Suspected abuse or neglect: your state's Adult Protective Services, and the facility's state survey agency (every state runs a complaint line — find yours via Care Compare or your state health department site).
- Resident-rights problems, quality concerns: the Long-Term Care Ombudsman for your area — a free, independent advocate for residents.
